Perennial herb 20-60 cm high; stems decumbent; often from dense colies. Petioles sessile with leaf sheath, membranous, long-ciliate at mounth, purplish dark red. Leaves glabrous, upper surface dark green with silver stripes and purplish dark red at margin, lower surface dark red. Flowers in cluster sub-tended by 2 large bracts. Petals 3, purplish. Stamens 6; filament bearded, purplish; anther white. Style white. |
