Habitat: shady and moist along gully in evergreen hardwood forest, granite bedrock. Perennial evergreen herb, upto 60 cm tall. Roots dull orange-brown, fragrant. Stem dark green. Inflorescence axes dull maroon-red, with sticky glandular white hairs, bracts light green with light red base and mid vein, calyx maroon-red, some with light green margin, with sticky white glandular hairs. Corolla tube light orange-yellow, corolla lobes light yellow, with faint orange stripe, pistil white with red purple stigma, filaments (2) white, anthers bright yellow. Leaf blades green above, white to greenish white below. Locally common. |
