Habitat: partly open, newly cleared area for firebreak along trail in degraded evergreen hardwood forest, granite bedrock. Perennial deciduous herb, upto 110 cm tall. Roots white to beige, with white exudation. Stem green with glaucous sheen, pedicel light green, bracts light green with red tip, involucral bracts light green with whitish red tip and margins, involucral bract tips with pinkish hairs. Ray corolla white, disc flower white with light purple margin, pistil light purple, covered with white pollen. Leaf blades dark green above, greyish green below, with white exudation. Locally common. |
