Terrestrial fern with creeping rhizome, fronds closely spaced, roots wiry, 2 mm thick. Rhizome and crown ca. 5 cm underground. Stipes and rachis purplish brown, very brittle; stipes slightly swollen and slightly flattened at base. 18 mm wide, 10 mm thick, very scaly. Fronds to 167 cm long, lamina to 89 x 46 cm, widest 1/3 way up lamina; basal 1-2 pairs of pinnae reflexed. Lamina dull mid to dark green above, slightly paler beneath. |
