Open disturbed, fire-damage, deciduous, secondary growth thicket in degraded deciduous, seasonal, hardwood + much bamboo forest; limestone terrain deciduous tree 10 m, dbh 34 cm; bark thick, cracked, grey; inner bark red-brown; branchets grey; inflorescence axes, bracts, calyx light green; petals 5, bright light green; anthers tan; outer whorl of filaments upper 2/3 white. lower 1/3 red, inner whorl & base of stamen tube whitish; petals & Stamens falling off in the morning; stigma, upper 1/2 style, disc light green; oower 1/2 style whitish; ovary dull green; slightly fragrant most branches leafless, only a few with very immature leaves; blades green above, light green . |
