Deciduous tree, 7 m high. dbh. 28 cm. Bark: cream, moderately cracked; inner bark with abundant cream-coloured sap. Flower: peduncle red; pedicel cream or red; sepals dark red with greyish hairs; petals yellowish-cream with red streak in centre; stamens and ovary yellow-orange; styles pale yellow; stigmas semi-translucent to whitish. Fruit: dark red, wings bright red with fine white hairs. |
