Terrestrial fern growing in water logged sandy soil with water surface weakly flowing. Rhizome massive, creeping and forming mounds surrounded by a skirt of dead fronds; several dozen fronds from each mound paked closely together. Stipe and rachis yellow-green, brown towards base 2 pale green lines running length of stipe; pale green aerophores at base of pinnae on rachis. Fronds to 237 cm long, stipe to 87 cm long, longest pinnae in middle of lamina to 30.5 cm long. Fronds with 15-26 pairs of lateral pinnae, lowest 2-3 pairs reflexed; pinnae mid above, paler beneath. Croziers dark purple with 2 green stripes. Sori indusiate but many lost. |
