Herb 60-100 cm high; rhizomes branched. Inflorescences aristing from rhizomes; peduncles on peduncle cloth with scale like sheaths, black with red; conical with densely bract, dark red with dark green. Flowers yellow; bracteole roll around corolla tube, yellow with red at apex translucent. Sepals white with red at apex translucent. Petals: tube yellow with red; lobes yellow. Stamens: lateral staminodes2, yellow translucent; anther yellow. Pistil 1; stylode absent; style yellow; stigma 2 lobes, yellow. |
