
The
Glasshouse Complex of Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden comprises 4 exhibition
conservatoriesand 8 display glasshouses for plant collections.
The Glasshouse complex shelters
plant species grouped according to their environmental comditions and uses.
The conditions within each house are computer monitored to control humidity,
ventilation and light.
Orchid and Fern House
Featuring Orchids and
other epiphytes such as bromeliads and ferns. However, the emphasis is on the
native terrestrial orchid species for which Thailand is famous.

Aquatic House
It shelters over 60 species
of water plants which grow in water or at the edge of the rivers, lakes, ponds,
streams and marshes. The Aquatic House displays waterlilies, aquatic fern, reed,
water plants and some insect-eating plant species.

Cacti and Succulants
The Cacti collection has species
from different parts of the world including, USA., Mexico, Peru and Brazil etc.
TheSucculent collection has species form tropical Asia to South Africa ,including
Euphobias ,Kalanchoespp. and many others. Also located in the Arid Glasshouse
is an impressive Cycad collections that are amongst the oldest andmost primitive
group of seed plants.

The Rainforest Collection
The largest conservatory of
the Glasshouse Complex, with a floor space of 1,000 sq.m. and a height of 33
m, holds the garden's collection of native palms, ferns and other tropical species
of Southeast Asia.
