ลักษณะ :

ไม้ล้มลุก อายุหลายปี ลำต้นทอดเลื้อยไปตามพื้นดิน สูง 8-12 ซม. ใบ เป็นใบประกอบรูปนิ้วมือ ใบย่อย 3 ใบ รูปไข่กลับ กว้าง 1-2.5 ซม. ยาว 1-3.5 ซม. ปลายใบมน โคนใบสอบเรียว ขอบใบหยัก แผ่นใบมีขนทั้งสองด้าน ก้านใบยาว 3-12 ซม. ดอก สีเหลือง ออกเดี่ยวตามข้อ กลีบประดับ 5 กลีบ คล้ายใบ กลีบรองดอก 5 กลีบ รูปไข่แกมหอก ปลายแหลม กลีบดอก 5 กลีบ แผ่รูปไข่กลับ หลุดร่วงง่าย เกสรผู้ประมาณ 20 อัน เกสรเมียจำนวนมาก ผล เป็นผลสด ผลแก่สีแดงหรืออมส้ม รูปครึ่งทรงกลม มีกลีบประดับ และกลีบรองดอก ติดคงทน

Characteristics :

Herb, 8-12 cm high, with long slender stolons. Leaves 3(-5) foliolate; leaflets, obovate, crenate, toothed or serrate, 1-3.5 cm long by 1-2.5 cm broad, hairy on both surfaces; petiole 3-12 cm long. Flowers yellow, solitary, axillary on the nodes; 15-25 mm across; sepals green, triangulate; petals obovate, easily loose; stamens ca 20. Fruit berry, spherical, red to orange-red; calyx persistent; obscurely pitted.

อินเดีย จีน ภูมิภาคเอเชีย ตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ประเทศไทยพบทางภาคเหนือ ตามที่เปิดบนภูเขา ที่ระดับความสูง 700-2,300 เมตร ออกดอกและติดผลช่วง เดือนมกราคม-สิงหาคม

Distribution :

India, Southeast Asia, to the Malay Archipelago. In Thailand, frequent in open places in the north, at elevations of 700-2,300 m. Flowering and fruiting from January to August.
