ไม้ล้มลุก อายุปีเดียว สูงถึง 1 เมตร ลำต้นและกิ่งเป็นเหลี่ยม มีขนสีเทาเงินปกคลุม ใบ เป็นใบประกอบแบบขนนก เรียงสลับ ปลายคี่ ใบย่อย 3-4 คู่ รูปขอบขนานแกมไข่กลับ กว้าง 1-2 ซม. ยาว 3-6 ซม. ผิวใบมีขน เส้นใบไม่ชัดเจน ดอก สีส้มอ่อน ออกเป็นช่อ ที่ปลายยอด ยาว 3-10 ซม. ดอกย่อย 2-5 ดอก รูปดอกถั่ว กลีบรองดอก รูประฆัง กลีบดอก 5 กลีบ กลีบบนแผ่กลมมน กลีบข้าง รูปไข่ แกมขอบขนาน กลีบคู่ล่างเชื่อมกันคล้ายรูปท้องเรือ ผล เป็นฝักแบน รูปขอบขนาน กว้าง 0.7 ซม. ยาว 6-7 ซม. ฝักอ่อนมีขนสั้นๆ เมล็ด รูปรีเบี้ยว

Annual herb, up to 1 m high; stem and branchlets angular, grayish-silver pubescent. Leaves imparipinnate, alternate; leaflets 3-4 pairs, oblong to oblong-obvate, 3-6 cm long by 1-2 cm wide, pubescent on both surfaces; secondary veins indistinct. Inflorescence terminal raceme, 3-10 cm long, 2-5 flowered. Flowers pale orange, pea-shaped; calyx campanulate; corolla 5, standard orbicular and curved outward, wings ovate to ovate-oblong, keel curved; ovary hirsute; style hairy. Pod flat, oblong, 6-7 cm long, ca 0.7 cm wide, puberulous. Seeds oblique, ellipsoid.

ขึ้นกระจายทั่วเอเชียตะวันออก เฉียงใต้ เก็บตัวอย่างครั้งแรกในประเทศไทย พบทุกภาคยกเว้นภาคใต้ ตามป่าเต็งรัง ออกดอกช่วงเดือนกรกฎาคม-ตุลาคม

First collected from Thailand. Distributed throughout Southeast Asia. In Thailand, found all over the country except in the south, scattered in deciduous dipterocarp forests. Flowering from July to October.
