ลักษณะ :

ไม้ต้นขนาดเล็ก สูงได้ถึง 8 เมตร ใบ เดี่ยว เรียงเวียนรูปไข่ หรือรูปรี กว้าง 1.5-3 ซม. ยาว 2.5-8 ซม. ใบอ่อนสีส้มแดง ปลายใบ เรียวแหลม ขอบใบจักแบบฟันเลื่อย ดอก สีขาวหรือชมพูขาว ออกเป็นช่อแบบช่อกระจะ ตามซอกใบหรือปลายยอด ยาว 3-5 ซม. กลีบรองดอก 5 กลีบ รูปสามเหลี่ยมยาวประมาณ 1 มม. กลีบดอก รูปคนโท มีสัน ยาว 5-9 มม. ปลายแยกเป็น 5 แฉก เกสรผู้ 8-10 อัน รังไข่ 5 ช่อง ผล รูปกลม ขนาดผ่านศูนย์กลาง 5-6 มม. เมล็ดรูปไข่ ขนาดประมาณ 1-2 มม.

Characteristics :

Small tree, up to 8 m high. Leaves simple, spirally arranged, ovate to elliptic, 2.5-8 cm long by 1.5-3 cm wide, young leaf orange-red; apex acuminate; margin serrate. Inflorescence axillary and terminal raceme, 3-5 cm long. Flowers white or pinkish-white; calyx 5, triangular-shaped, ca 1 mm long; corolla 5, urceolate, ridges, 5-9 mm long; stamens 8-10; ovary 5 loculars. Fruit globose, 5-6 mm. Seed ovoid, 1-2 mm long.

พบตามป่าเต็งรังผสมป่าสน และป่าดิบเขา ที่ความสูง 900-2,500 เมตร ออกดอกเดือนธันวาคม-เมษายน ติดผลเดือนกุมภาพันธ์-พฤษภาคม

Distribution :

In deciduous dipterocarp with pine forests and hill evergreen forests at elevations of 900-2,500 m. Flowering from December to April. Fruiting from February to May.
