ไม้เถา ลำต้นเลื้อยเกาะสูงได้ประมาณ 10 เมตร ใบเดี่ยว เรียงสลับ รูปรีถึงรูปขอบขนาน กว้าง 1.5-3 ซม. ยาว 3-15 ซม. ฐานใบมน ปลายใบแหลม ก้านใบแผ่กว้างคล้ายแผ่นใบ ยาว 5-14 ซม. ช่อดอกแบบช่อเชิงลดมีกาบ ออกตามซอกใบ มี 1-2 ช่อ ก้านช่อยาวประมาณ 2.5 ซม. กาบรูปไข่ คอดเว้า พับงอ ยาว 0.4-1.2 ซม. โคนเป็นรูปหัวใจหุ้มก้านช่อดอก ปลายแหลมมีติ่ง ติดทน ดอกมีเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลาง 1-2 มม. เกสรเพศผู้ 4 อัน รังไข่แบนรี ผลเป็นช่อมีหลายผลย่อย แต่ละช่อมีผลย่อย 1-5 ผล ทรงรีหรือรูปไข่ ยาว 1-1.8 ซม. เมื่อแก่สีแดงเข้ม
พบเกาะตามต้นไม้บริเวณเชิงเขาหินปูน ที่ระดับความสูงจากระดับน้ำทะเล 700-1,000 เมตร ออกดอกและติดผลเดือนพฤศจิกายน-ธันวาคม
