ลักษณะ :

ไม้เลื้อยมีเนื้อไม้ ลำต้นมีหนาม ยาวถึง 4 ซม. ใบเดี่ยว เรียงสลับ รูปขอบขนาน รูปไข่กลับ หรือรูปรี กว้าง 1.5-5 ซม. ยาว 4-14 ซม. ดอกแยกเพศ แยกช่อ ช่อดอกเพศผู้แบบช่อกระจุกแน่น ออกเดี่ยว หรือเป็นคู่ที่ซอกใบ ขนาดเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลาง 0.3-1 ซม. ช่อดอกเพศเมียแบบช่อกระจุกแน่น ออกที่ซอกใบ ดอกเชื่อมติดกันที่โคน ผลรวมรูปทรงกลม ขนาดเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลาง 1-2 ซม. เมื่อสุกสีเหลืองถึงแดง ออกดอกเดือน เม.ย.-พ.ค.

Characteristics :

Woody climbers; stem with thorn up to 4 cm long. Leaves simple, alternate, oblong, obovate or elliptic, 4-14 by 1.5-5 cm. Flowers unisexual, in different inflorescences; male inflorescences capitulate, axillary, solitary or paired, 0.3-1 cm in diam.; female inflorescences axillary, basally connate. Fruits multiple, globose, 1-2 cm in diam., yellow to red when ripe. Flowering Apr.-May.
