ไม้ล้มลุก อวบน้ำ สูง 40-70 ซม. ต้นเกลี้ยง เปราะหักง่าย ใบ เดี่ยว เรียงสลับ รูปรีแกมหอกกลับ กว้าง 3-7.5 ซม. ยาว 5-18 ซม. ผิวใบเกลี้ยงทั้งสองด้าน ปลายใบแหลม โคนใบสอบ ดอก สีขาว ออกเป็นช่อจากซอกใบ ดอกย่อยบานเต็มที่กว้าง 2 ซม. กลีบรองดอก 5 กลีบ กลีบล่างเชื่อมเป็นรูปถุง ส่วนฐานยื่นโค้งลงเล็กน้อย กลีบดอก 5 กลีบ ปลายกลีบล่างมีแต้มลายสีแดง ปนเหลือง ผล รูปทรงกระบอก ผิวเกลี้ยง เมื่อแก่แล้วแตก
Succulent perennial herb, 40-70 cm high; stem glabrous. Leaves simple, alternate, ovate-elliptic, 5-18 cm long by 3-7.5 cm wide, glabrous on both surfaces; margin remotely crenate. Inflorescence axillary, racemes. Flowers white, ca 2 cm across; calyx 5, posterior sepal saccate, with incurved spurred; corolla 5, with red-yellow stripes. Fruit capsule, cylindrical, glabrous, explosive when release the seeds.

India to Indochina. In Thailand, found in hill evergreen forests at Doi Chiang Dao, Chiang Mai and Doi Phu Kha, Nan. Flowering from March to April.
