ไม้พุ่ม สูง 1-1.5 ม. กิ่งก้านมีขนสีน้ำตาลปกคลุม ใบ เป็นใบ ประกอบแบบขนนกปลายคี่ ใบย่อย 5-9 ใบ ออกตรงข้าม รูปรี ถึงรูปไข่กลับ ใบย่อยปลายสุด กว้าง 1-2 ซม. ยาว 2.5-3.5 ซม. ปลายใบมนกลม ดอก สีส้มแกมชมพู ออกเป็นช่อแน่น ตั้งขึ้น ยาว 10-20 ซม. ใบประดับเรียวยาว หลุดร่วงง่าย ดอกย่อย รูปดอกถั่ว ขนาด 4-6 มม. กลีบรองดอกรูปถ้วย กลีบดอก 5 กลีบ กลีบบน รูปไข่กลับ ด้านนอกมีขน กลีบข้างรูปขอบขนาน กลีบคู่ล่างเชื่อมกัน คล้ายรูปท้องเรือ เกสรผู้ 10 อัน รังไข่เกลี้ยง ผล เป็นฝัก รูปทรงกระบอก กว้าง 0.2 ซม. ยาว 1.5-2 ซม. มีขนสีน้ำตาล หนาแน่น ผลแก่แล้วแตก มี 6-9 เมล็ด
Shrub, 1-1.5 m high; branchlets brownish pubescent. Leaves imparipinnate; leaflets 5-9, opposite, elliptic to obovate, 2.5-3.5 cm long by 1-2 cm wide; apex rounded. Inflorescence axillary and terminal raceme, many flowered, erect, 10-20 cm long. Flowers pinkish-orange, pea-shaped, 4-6 cm long; bracts caducous; calyx cup-shaped; corolla 5, standard obovate, hairy outside, wings oblong, keel curved; stamens 10; ovary glabrous. Pod cylindrical, 1.5-2 cm long, densely brownish pubescent. Seeds 6-9.
พบกระจายทั่วไปในเขตร้อน ตามทุ่งหญ้าที่เปิดโล่ง หรือพื้นที่ชุ่มชื้นริมทาง ที่ระดับความสูงได้ถึง 1,500 เมตร ออกดอกช่วงเดือนสิงหาคม-ตุลาคม
Widely distributed in tropical regions, in grasslands or moist areas along roadsides, up to elevations of 1,500 m. Flowering from August to October.
