ไม้พุ่มขนาดเล็ก สูง 1-2 เมตร ลำต้นมีขนสีน้ำตาลนุ่ม ใบ เดี่ยว ออกตรงข้ามเป็นคู่หรือเป็นวงรอบข้อ 3-4 ใบ รูปรีแกม ขอบขนาน กว้าง 4-10 ซม. ยาว 10-30 ซม. ปลายใบแหลม ขอบใบหยัก เป็นฟันเลื่อย แผ่นใบมีขนสีน้ำตาล ก้านใบยาว 0.8-5 ซม. ดอก สีขาว มีแต้มสีแดงในหลอดดอก ออกเป็นช่อรอบข้อ ก้านดอก ยาว 2-10 มม. กลีบรองดอกเชื่อมกันเป็นถ้วย ปลายแยกเป็น 5 แฉก กลีบดอก 5 กลีบไม่เท่ากัน ปลายโค้งพับออก เกสรผู้ 4 อัน ติดบนกลีบดอก เกสรเมีย 1 อัน ผล เป็นผลสด ผลแก่สีขาว ยาว 2-6 มม. เมล็ดสีดำขนาดเล็ก จำนวนมาก
Undershrub, 1-2 m high; stem and branches silky tomentose. Leaves simple, opposite or 3-4 verticillate, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, 10-30 cm long by 4-10 cm wide, silky tomentose on both surfaces; apex acute; margin serrate; petiole 0.8-5 cm long. Inflorescence compound cyme around the node. Flowers white with red patch inside; calyx 5, campanulate; corolla 5 unequal, lobes curved outward; stamens 4, adnated to the tube; ovary 1; pedicel 12-10 mm long. Fruit fleshy, white when mature, 2-6 mm long. Seeds black, small, numerous.
