ไม้พุ่ม สูง ๑ – ๒ ม. เกือบทุกส่วนมีหนามปกคลุม ใบเดี่ยวเรียงสลับ รูปไข่กว้าง ขอบใบเว้าเป็นพู ดอกออกเป็นช่อกระจุกจากซอกใบ สีขาวหรือสีม่วง ผลสดรูปทรงกลม ขนาด ๒ – ๓ ซม. มีขนสีขาวปกคลุม ออกดอกตลอดปี ขยายพันธุ์โดยการเพาะเมล็ด
Solanum anguivi is a shrub, 1 – 1.5 m tall. Branches and leaves are covered with soft hairs. Leaves are simple,alternate, ovate and lobed. Inflorescences are in terminal and axillary, with purple flowers; 5 petals. Fruits are globose, 1 cm in diameter green and turning orange when ripe. Seeds are compresses, numerous. Flowering in July – November. This plant is commonly grown from seed.

Solanum stramoniifolium is a perennial shrub, 1 – 2 m tall. It is all over armed with spines. Leaves simple, alternate, broadly ovate, lobed. Inflorescences in axillary clusters with white or purple flowers. Fruits in globose berry, 2 – 3 cm in diameter, covered with long white hairs. Flowering throughout the year. This plant can be grown from seed.
