Deciduous, perennial, ground herb to 50 cm tall; stems 1-several, tan; bracts green with dark red; calyx dark red; corolla tube: narrow lower part very pale light green, upper expanded part pale light green with dark violet venation; lobes whitish-tan outside, inside dark violet & white, posterior lobes 3, anterior 2; throat dark violet; leaf blades dull dark green above, pale light green and ageing with a light violet hue below. |
