Habitat: shady area in evergreen hardwood forest, on rugged limestone rocks, limestone bedrock. Epilithic annual herb, up to 60 cm tall. Base stem light brown to dull red, rest of stem and pale green with whitish indumentum. Inflorescence axes greyish green, calyx light green with faint red stripes. Corolla purple outside, dark purple inside, upper corolla lobes purplish white, with light pink hairs, style pinkish white, stigma purple, filaments (2) light purple, anthers black. Leaf blades green above, light green below. Common. |
