Perennial herb, erect, ca. 60 cm high. Leaves 1-3 foliolate, mostly at terminal branches and digitately 3-foliolate. Inflorescences capitates; flowers in simple umbel-like and compound umbel-like, up to 6 cm long, bearing 4-7 flowers per head, axillary and terminal. Flowers dark purple; bracts broadly ovate, involucrate, imbricate; bracteoles absent. Corolla much longer than calyx. Stamens diadelphous. Disc tubular. Ovary densely hairy, glandular; style filiform, thickened at middle part. Pods turgid, 1-2 seeded. Seed orbicular or subglobose. |
