Caespitose palms, with 4 stems in clump; tallest stem about 14 cm in diam, with 35-40 cm long internodes, colllected: Leaf sheath about 120 cm long, green, splitting to the base, disintegrating in fibrous mesh along the margins; leaf petiole 20-25 cm long, green glabrous; leaf rachis about 2 cm long, with 2x11 first order veins, the basal ones 75-80 cm long with 2x8 leaflets. Infructescence and inflorescence past female anthesis collected: female inflorescence with 25 cm long peduncle; prophyll 8-10 cm long, hidden in sheath of subtending leaf; PD bracts 6, exposed green; inflorescence rachis about 15 cm long, with 112 rachillae, these 27-29 cm long, green, glabrous. Infructescence with 45-47 cm long peduncle, covered by PD bracts these green to brown along the margins; inflorescence rachis 18-20 cm long, no. of rachillae 130, these 55-60 cm long; fruits maturing red to burgundy, globular, 1.4 cm in diam. |
