Evergreen tree, c. 28 m high. dbh 45 cm. Crown: dense clusters of leaves mostly towards end of branches. Bark: cream, flaking in thin plates; inner bark in two distinct layers: outer red-brown and fibrous inner pale orange turning dark orange on exposure to air, semi-granslucent. Leaf: dark green above, paler below, very rigid. Flower: sepals dull green with silvery hairs; petals pale yellow; filaments mid-yellow; anthers rich yellow. NOTE: very few flowers observed on tree. |
