Deciduous, clum-forming herb 60-100 cm tall, learning over. Growing in soil enriched by burning. Leaves 6-8/stem, slightly plicate, usually with silver cloud along midrib above, pale green below. Inflorescence terminal, curving to vertical position. Rachis, ovary and calyx green, rest of flower orange-yellow without spot on lip. Lateral staminoides held laterally in male flowers, facing forward and larger in female flower. Fruits only on lower cincinni. Bulbils often on lower rachis, within leaf sheaths. |
